You can travel to Calella by several means of transport. It is ideally located on the Mediterranean coastline, midway between Barcelona and Gerona (50 kilometres from both cities).
By Car
When you travel by car, the best way is by the N-II road, or on the C-32 motorway. The new C-60 motorway between MatarĂ³ and Granollers has opened up a new route and helped communications to the interior of Catalonia. It is now possible to arrive in Calella from Sabadell, Terrassa, Vic and other major Catalan towns in less than 60 minutes.
The Airport
It is also possible to arrive in Calella by road using public transport.
The railway is the most important public transport route to Calella and mostly used. The line joins the town to Barcelona, Gerona, the rest of the Costa Brava and Barcelona airport. Trains run every hour and are more frequent in the summer months. The excellent location of Calella brings visitors from all over Europe by plane, arriving both at Barcelona and Gerona airports.

Railway train Calella - Barcelona
The excellent railway connection takes you to the city centre of Barcelona in approximately one hour. The train stops at the Ramblas or at the station Catalunya, with connections to the metro. A direct train connection to Barcelona runs two times per hour during the day. During rush hour even four times per hour. The costs of the train are only € 3.10 for a one way ticket. From Barcelona the last train leaves at 10:30 P.M.

Railway train Calella - Gerona
It's also possible to go by railway to Gerona. For this you travel with Renfe Cercanias to Macanet-Massanes, after this you go with the regional train to Gerona.

When you have the possession of a (rental) car you can easily go by car to Gerona. Gerona is well pointed out on the roads and at or near the city centre you will find lots of (free) parking spots.
